Gilles Obermayer is currently Music Coordinator in the Dance Department at Barnard College. He teaches the academic course "Music for Dance", accompanies dance technique classes and supervises the musicians in the department. This year 2009-2010 Gilles is taking a leave of absence while starting his Master Degree in Oriental Medicine at Tri-State College for Acupuncture.
Gilles Obermayer is a NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) certified practitioner and volunteer at the Lincoln Hospital's Center for Detoxification in the Bronx, NYC.
Gilles is also a graduate COC (Certified Ohashiatsu® Consultant), from the Ohashi Institute in NYC, and a graduate of the Swedish Institute . He is licensed as Massage therapist in the State of NY and he is nationally certified as bodyworker by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). Gilles has his own private practice in downtown (Turning Point Acupuncture, Columbus circle) and uptown (207th St) Manhattan .
Since September 2009 Gilles has been be practicing, as massage therapist, at Beth Israel's Center for Health and Healing. He is also bodywork therapist in the sports medicine team in the Athletic department at Columbia University.

and performing at the Florida
Dance Association festival in Tampa. FL.
